The
District’s election procedure is to elect a total of five (5) commissioners to
serve on its Board, with one each to represent the Cities of Nederland, Port
Neches, and Groves respectively and two (2) to represent the City of Port
Arthur. All qualified voters residing in
the District are entitled to vote for one candidate for each position to be
filled.
Elections
are held in May of even-numbered years.
The next election date for the District is May 7, 2022, wherein two (2) Commissioners will be elected to represent the District. One to represent the City of Port Arthur and one to
represent the City of Nederland. Polling locations will be posted. Candidates are required to be a resident of
and own taxable property within the part of the District located within the
boundaries of the City in which they are seeking election. The first day to file for a Place on the General Election Ballot is Wednesday, January 19, 2022, and the deadline for filing for a Place on the
General Election Ballot is Friday, February 18, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
